In this course you will learn the basics of energetic healing which includes fundamental analysis, TCM organ systems, individual herbs & herbal remedies. Chinese herbology is a component of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) that comprises the practice of acupuncture and massage. Chinese herbal medicine is unique in that the assessments are based on the theories of Taoist practiitoners who passed this knowledge down to the people. It was first used, and then further developed by those in the agricultural community. Chinese herbal medicine has its history of over 2000 years with a herbal Materia Medica published in 200 BC titled Shen Nong Pen T’sao. The modern Chinese Materia Medica is comprised of hundreds of herbs and descriptions. There are literally hundreds of well-known decoctions and remedies used with these herbal combinations. Chinese herbs are well known to be successful in correcting imbalances of inharmonious conditions of the body, mind and spirit.
In this introduction to Chinese medicine, we will also cover TCM anatomy, meridian theory and acupoints. Other TCM theories and practices covered will be therapeutic diet and exercise (Chi Kung), as well as the importance of emotional and spiritual healing as a means of assisting in the recovery from chronic illness. Complete with over 50 pages of handouts, review questions, assignments, Chi Kung meditation CD and a final exam.
